SMS and on-board displays bus arrival times predictions available to CTB users in Hong Kong

Telargo System has been deployed on a test route A10, installing on-board equipment on every bus operating on this route, providing real-time positions of busses and predicting the accurate arrival times based on Telargo’s ITS technology.
The riders can easily get bus arrival times information using SMS on their mobile phones. At their request, a reply text message is delivered to them, listing the times of arrival for the selected stop.
Buses have also been equipped with on-board displays, which allow CTB to provide voice and video announcements, such as next stop announcements, company or commercial messages, to the riders riding the buses. Administration of creating and distributing announcements is supported by Telargo Remote Content Management System, which enables the creation of voice and video content and its simultaneous over-the-air distribution to selected buses. In this way riders benefit from quick information delivery, that can be crucial in cases of weather or traffic anomalies, while the bus operator benefits from simple and inexpensive content delivery operations.
